YUMA SUN: 9th Circuit Court upholds injunction against SB 1070

In a split decision this morning, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals concluded there was sufficient evidence to believe that provisions of SB 1070 are an unconstitutional infringement on the exclusive power of the federal government to regulate immigration. Judge Richard Paez, writing for the majority, also said such a conclusion is supported by “the threat of 50 states layering their own immigration enforcement rules on top of the Immigration and Naturalization Act.” Continue reading

SB 1611: Attack on Children and Businesses

“Apparently Pearce isn’t satisfied with the damage he’s done to the state and wants to completely drive us off a cliff. Already, Pearce and a handful of other elected officials have created a climate of hostility and division in the state with their anti-immigrant rhetoric and actions, and have tarnished the state’s reputation everywhere giving the false impression that Arizonans are intolerant and racist.
